The Best Dog Food in The World

the best dog food in the worldWhat is the best dog food in the world?

This is the best question you could ask but are you ready for the honest answer? Because the best dog food in the world does not come in a can and it surely does not come extruded into kibble or dry mixer. Look at the list below maked by a red X.

Ask yourself, do I want a dog food that will cause any of the things on that list to my dog?

Put aside your internal dialogue and what you think you believe – what you were told by others wether they are vets, TV commercials or well meaning friends. Just for this post be completely open minded to the possibilty that you have discovered a truth you did not know before.

Keep one simple thing in mind today: Children need fresh food for health and so too your dog needs fresh food for health. Food can be good for you or it can be bad for you, it cannot be both.

The best dog food in the world is the one that will:

  • Not cause allergies for your dog
  • Not cause silent but very real internal stress and anxiety to your dogs system
  • Not make your dog hyper, dull, dumbed down or feeling quietly sick after eating it
  • Not cause excess shedding of the dogs hair
  • Not lead to dental health problems, with eventual rotting teeth and gum disease needing extractions
  • Not cause massive liver stress from round the clock cleaning of foreign toxins added to the food
  • Not be filled with synthetic vitamins and minerals, colors, flavor enhancers, preservatives, mycotoxins and many more unhealthy additives
  • Not make your dogs breath foul
  • Not make your dogs waste foul
  • Not make your dogs coat smell gamey
  • Not cause cancer in 50% of dogs by age 10
  • Not cause your dogs death by the national average age of 12.5 years

It’s important to shift your thinking from what is the best dog food brand or best dog food for puppies or even best dog food for pit bulls because until you realise that any dog food that has been cooked at high temperatures for hours to kill off viruses, disease, parasites and bacteria, then a whole host of additives dropped in to control the foods stability once canned or extruded to kibble, and colors added to make it appealing to dog owners, what’s left of the term natural wholesome and healthy food for dogs is gone.

In it’s place you have processed commercial dog food or fast food or convenience food or junk food. And we know precisely what happens to children when they live on fast food and it’s no different for our dogs. Think children, think healthy fresh food and think dogs, think healthy fresh food.

All canned and bagged dog food brands are fast food. Asking what fast food is better than another fast food is not going to help you help your dog because all fast food is the same – it’s all fast food branded differently.

Do You Want the Absolute Best For Your Dog?

Start to think fresh dog food and you’ll be on the right track to understanding what’s best for your dog. Feed fresh food to your dog and you’ll completely wipe out that list above.

  1. Beth Daniel says

What exactly should I use to make my own dog food?

  2. Hi Beth, The great thing about this diet is -nothing to prepare- just defrost and serve-that’s it! Everything that gets you to this simple step is in the book link on this blog-A tiny investment for a lifetime of rock solid health-Dan.

  3. My dog has been diagnosed with EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) which means that his pancreas does not break down the food and absorb the nutrients. The treatment is putting a powder enzyme in his food that breaks down the nutrients for him. He has now been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. How would this diet work with the EPI, since I have to put this powder enzyme in his food?

  4. Hi Kristine
Ok for a start I’m no expert at diagnostics & treatment so I can only give educational advice. The EPI has occured IMHO directly as a result of your dogs diet as the pancreas cannot produce enough enzymes to break down commercial dog food which has none of it’s own leading to EPI (raw meat, bone, and offal come laden with natural enzymes that work in synergy with the enzymes from the pancreas) plus theres little nutrient value in commercial dog food to assimilate into the body anyway. The powder enzyme is probably useless and comes too late-your just causing yourself and the dog a costly drawn out misserable end-sorry (but the vet profession loves sick dogs for this very reason).
I take NO responsibility here-JUST educational advice OK.
You have a dog with a broken immune system that NO powders, drugs or invasive surgery will fix it-period, the kidney failure just serves to underline this as it cannot deal with the toxic burden.
Get your dog onto a raw food diet asap where the narturally occuring enzymes have a chance at healing the system and it will heal your dog ‘IF’ the pancreas and kidneys are not too far gone. I do not have the medical datails on these so cant know present diagnostics. You may want help with the diet, please use the contact form to ask.
Remember-natural canine food acts as healing medicine while commercial processed additive laden dog food acts as small daily doses of toxic poison with the eventual result you are now witness to. I feel your pain, I get this every day… get in touch and we’ll see if we can turn things around.

  5. Hi there mate,

My border collie since a small age had reoccuring skin allergies, where he would get red spots all over his body, and profusely scratch…But now gladly that is over but now its developed to problems surrounding his ear. The nature of this problem is not frequent, but it occurs every 4-5 months. Its not that going to the vet is expensive, but my dog suffers from extreme stress and anxiety at the vet, and becomes extreremely defensive…He is not an aggresive dog, but at the vet he almost swittches to a defensive mode… I have gone to a dog psychologist and has told me that he becomes very stressed and anxious at the vet, and that i have to wind him down. I just want to find a way in which i can prevent these allergies from occuring. as im sure its not from flees, as we keep to date with our flea treatments etc.

Currently we are feeding it eukunaba skin care, with potatoes and rice to mix it up and enhance the flavour. We give him no meat in fear that its meat that iniate his allergies.

  6. Hi, Your dog is reliving bad veterinary experiences, hence the switch to defensive mode, a switch to natural diet should mean very few vet visits over your dogs lifetime, no allergies and a relaxed dog.
The flea treatment is toxic and adding to the body burden and resultant allergies. Answer is to use natural alternative-Neem oil, e-mail me for how to.
Stop the commercial food and you have 90% chance of stopping the allergies for good. On the contrary the meat is GOOD, especially when combined as raw meat on the bone-a life saver!
If your really serious and want to help your dog, you gotta look at his diet. My new book has all the answers you need (not officially out yet)-use the contact form and we can get a forward copy to you.

  7. Hi there,

thanks for that. Yes i will order youre book. Also in regards to his behaviour at the vet, weve changed vet clinics, and also been taking him to the vet quite regularly over the last 2 weeks, around 2-3 times a week to get him familar to the place, which involves him walking around and sniffing the environment. He seems alot calmer than before, but im scared that could change during the actual consultation. What do you suggest i could do to to overcome his fear and anxiety at the vet? Is there any sort of other methods i could use, or desexing him? Hes nearly 4 years old, but ive been told by a dog psycholigist that hes not an aggresive dog by all means, and by desexing him it would only result him in not sniffing/ marking his territory as he does now.

I really want to fix this problem.

  8. Hi Shehan
What your doing is very good. Try taking it further and getting your dog inside for a visit, then arrange for the vet in question to come out and meet your dog purely as a social visit in the waiting area… with a treat or two and trust will be built from there. Remember, whatever your dog does that reinforces the behavior you want-treat him/praise him and ignore behavior you dont want (and I mean no reaction at all)
As for de-sexing, I believe dogs should be left with everything intact-period.
