The 10 Benefits of TRUE Hypoallergenic Dog Food

hypoallergenic dog foodA number of commercial products are referred to as hypoallergenic dog food; however what exactly does hypoallergenic truly mean?

After all, today’s consumer must be wary of companies that use such labels as a marketing scheme to sell more of their product. They openly refer to their products as ‘all natural’ or ‘hypoallergenic’ when they only fit the definition very loosely.Royal canin hypoallergenic dog food or any other hypoallergenic dog food brands come in cans and bags having been highly processed.

Any time a pet food is presented as fast food for dogs you must think about the fact that our human children need fresh food for good health, so why is it not the same for our dogs?

For the most part, if your dog is suffering food related allergies, diarrhea or digestive problems a dog food that is free of chemicals, preservatives, fillers and by products is a must. There are many commercial diets available that do claim to be free of these components; however, it is important to know that it is the raw natural diet that truly fits the definition of hypoallergenic. Here’s why.

The benefits of a raw naturally hypoallergenic dog food diet are:

  1. True, top notch nutrition in addition to no disease causing chemicals. Since a dog’s system is designed to only handle raw uncooked foods, another cooked commercial dog food will still offer little in the way of nutrition for your dog- hypoallergenic or not. If your dog is unable to obtain the essential nutrients he or she needs, their health will continue to suffer.
  2. Essential protein and enzymes. While the best hypoallergenic dog food can be chemical free, they still have no other way to offer their product without cooking; something that kills the enzymes a dog must have in its diet to stay healthy.  A raw natural diet contains the right foundation of proteins, vitamins and minerals in addition to the essential enzymes that help get nutrients to the right places.
  3. Faster results. A diet of proper nutrients means your dog can quickly rebalance, restore and repair its system to the original state Mother Nature created. Within weeks, you can see a disappearance of illness, an increase in vitality, whiter teeth, pinker gums, an improved temperament and, most importantly, you enjoy five to seven extra years with your dog in the long run.
  4. No relapses. Even if a commercial hypoallergenic dog food is pumped with vitamins and nutrients, if there is no way for a dog to assimilate what they need, the excess will simply be passed out of the body or gather in the organs. Once again, the dog will likely suffer yet another imbalance and intolerance.
  5. The healing of more than just allergies. A natural raw hypoallergenic dog food diet can also greatly alleviate a dog of arthritis, blocked anal glands, obesity, periodontal disease, heart disease, digestive problems, kidney ailments and much more.
  6. No more doggy smell. With no spoiled ingredients to collect in your dog’s system and ooze their way through your dogs skin and hair, the typical greasy heavy smell of dog will be gone in place of a healthy, balanced odor free coat.
  7. Your dog will have a healthy appetite. Rather than ignore its food or opt to eat out of the trash, your dog will look forward to its raw hypoallergenic dog food diet.
  8. The end of high vet bills. Ninety percent of illness is diet related and without the chemicals, preservatives and overcooked product to cause problems, a dog on a raw diet can help bring his or her owner’s vet bills down by eighty five percent as independently surveyed.
  9. The end of high pet food bills. As with many supposed hypoallergenic dog food products, a manufacturer will price their ‘specialty’ product markedly high. A raw dog food diet can cost a dog owner as little as a dollar a day or less.
  10. A happier, balanced dog. Nothing is better than a happy canine companion.

  1. Our German Shepherd dog is almost 5 yrs old and has been fed a raw diet exclusively. He has been scratching himself since he was a very young puppy. He was so uncomfortable, we have been giving him prednisone every other day. First we eliminated foods one by one, but no relief. Trying to feed rabbit, venison, and duck is financially impossible. Do you have any ideas of what would cause the least allergic reactions in the raw diet? He eats ground beef, ground pork and pork with bone, turkey and chicken (with bones), mackeral, raw cabbage, carrots, yogurt, oats – he is very energetic and has a nice coat. His teeth aren’t that great, some worn off from the bones. Thanks for your input!

  2. Gosh, this could be a number of things:

1-Germs gaining entry at the gum line into the blood stream (keep teeth scrupulously clean and have vet clean them to test this theory against scratching)
2-Does not like certain food-make him itch (test by eliminating choices) I think you have done this?
3-Environmental toxins-Maybe you use weed killers in your yard or certain chemicals in your house. My advice is to go organic with cleaners and yard chemicals but think very carefully on what you use because it gets into your dog. Remember he’s at ground level!
    4-Stop the oats.
5-Started as a puppy-does he have a nervous disposition which makes him scratch? Does he only scratch in the summer? What happened as a pup to make him start? Was he operated on, given drugs or otherwise seen by a vet when a pup?
6- He has an auto immune problem stemming from vaccination. My advice: STOP any form of further vaccination NOW! (and do not have any more ever!!!).
7-Go through those foods again and start with just one food choice for a whole week if you have to but re-check.
8-Fast your dog at least one day per week. This will give the immune system a chance to some house cleaning duties and can help enormously.
9-Feed just one main meal per day, no treats, no carbs, filtered or bottle water only.

Thry these and come back to me.
    Hope this helps, Dan.
